Cancer Council Queensland

Cancer Council is Australia’s leading cancer charity, working across every aspect of every cancer. Each day, Cancer Council Queensland supports families affected by cancer when they need it most. We speak out on behalf of the community on cancer issues, empower people to reduce their cancer risk, and find new ways to better detect and treat cancer.

We offer a range of services to support anyone affected by cancer. In 2020, we helped thousands of people get the support they needed with 7597 contacts responded to through our 13 11 20 Information and Support line.

We are focused on providing tangible benefits for the community through research, to improve the lives of cancer patients and their families. In 2020, thanks to the support of our community, we invested more than $7.3 million into lifesaving cancer research.

We know that preventing cancer is one of the most effective ways of creating a cancer free future. We develop programs that encourage and empower people to lead healthier lifestyles to help reduce their cancer risk. In 2020, over 29,400 people completed out Cancer Risk Calculator to discover how they could minimise their cancer risk.

We work with the community to change laws and policies to reduce cancer risks and improve cancer care.
