About

Walk for Women’s Cancers

Your support gives hope for every woman’s future.

Walk for Women’s Cancers was founded in 2004 by Cassandra Munson. The idea was to give hope to Queensland women affected by cancer. Together, we walk towards a cure for women’s cancers.

In previous years Walk for Women’s Cancers events have been held across 5 regional locations in Queensland, accommodating both 3km and 6km. However, this year Walk for Women’s Cancers will be held virtually across Queensland!

In 2020 we encouraged the communtiy to Unite in Pink in their local areas and took Walk for Womens's Cancers virtual.

This doesn’t change our core purpose and mission. To encourage communities to create hope by funding lifesaving research, prevention programs and patient support services for women affected by breast and gynaecological cancers.

You can support Walk for Women’s Cancers this year by committing to walk 18km or your own distance any time from Saturday, 25 September to Friday, 1 October and raise funds to honour the 18 Queensland women who will lose their lives to women's cancer each week.

Participation helps fund research for life-saving treatments and support programs to ensure nobody goes on a cancer journey alone.

Designed to unite, celebrate and remember those affected by women’s cancers, the event has a strong community connection, attracting families and individuals to walk and fundraise for the future of the women we love.
