My target 20 kms
20 km Walk we did it!Glad to have offered our time to promote this year’s fundraiser! Thankyou everyone for supporting our Walk for Women’s Cancers.
Finish What We StartedStarted early this morning and walked 11.2 km with my girl Zoe! People waved and smiled as we walked with our pink tutus on. Promoting such a good cause means finishing what we started. So it’s 8.8 km more to promote awareness, and fundraise, to end women’s cancers.
Pink tutus have arrived! That’s right, our pink tutus have arrived and Zoe and I will be wearing them proudly as we walk together for 20km around our local area this Saturday! We are walking for women in our own family affected by cancer and we are walking and fundraising for a cure to women’s cancers. It’s the very least we can do to support this worthy cause. Please join us by fundraising with us and donate today if you can. Thankyou!
Taking it further!Went on a 4km walk today with my daughter and husband but it turned out to be 11km long. It was fun walking together and time passed quickly. We are training for the big 20km walk next week. Please help me raise $2000 by sponsoring me if you can. Thankyou so much!
Walking TogetherWell, I've got my daughter Zoe registered and walking 20 km with me on 26th September! We are both training for the day and waiting for our pink tutus to arrive! Please sponsor me by pressing the yellow donate button and following the prompts. Thankyou very much!
Finish StrongerIn 2019, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma which spread to eight of my lymph nodes. I had a left total mastectomy, axilla surgery, a lot of chemotherapy followed by five weeks of daily radiation. I lost my hair, leaned on my family, leaned on my faith and some very clever doctors for the last 17 months of my life. My world revolved around the Mater Cancer Care Centre, Mater Adult Hospital and also the PA Hospital. I’m indebted to the incredible teams of oncologists, breast surgeons, breast care nurses as well as cardiologists, neurologists, nurses and social workers, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, radiation and admin teams who all do their very best to help women like me deal with their cancer diagnosis. One in seven women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There are also women with other types of cancers who need a lot of treatment to feel safe again. I am recovering very well, but this year I am walking for my family and friends so that more research can be accomplished to end this insidious disease once and for all. I'm hoping to raise at least $2000. I hope you will help me raise funds this year as I walk for women of all ages. I’m going to wear my pink tutu and finish what I started. Let's finish stronger together! 👍👍👍🌷🌷🌷🌷💝💝
